My Garden Tour

While I sat at my bistro table today I looked out over my teeny tiny garden, Yeah, that's it right there behind the pumpkin. My itsy bitsy garden. A few weeks ago, I threw some pumpkin seeds into my garden along with some tomato plants and one sunflower plant. The sunflower plant was almost dead (practically dead now). My tomato plants are doing pretty decent and my pumpkins are actually, surprisingly doing well. So, here we go.

50 things about me

One of my favorite bloggers did this when she began her blog. It's fifty facts about me, well, question is, can I come up with fifty things about me?

Two sides and two blogs

The Farmer & I have this joke that he's dating two different girls. One is a mothering housewife type who loves to cook, clean and take care of her Farmer. She loves to garden and is a hardworker. She dresses professionally for work and vintage grandmother style.
The other one, is a free-spirited gypsy who's only wish in life is to see things and go places on a whim. She loves to wake-up and just say, "Let's go somewhere!" She loves wearing loose pants and doesn't care too much about anything.
So, you can see how we would joke right?
Anyway...

Autumn Chowder

All Fall I think of having the perfect soup. Whether it be tomato, chicken noodle or something fancy like a chowder. I'll even go for Brunswick stew! Well after searching for a recipe worthy I finally found one that looked interesting! An Autumn chowder from over at Thriving Home Blog! Here's the recipe, I haven't tried it but I plan on it so you know the drill, let me know your thoughts in the comment section!

If you follow me on Facebook then you know that I got a new job that has totally screwed with my regular schedule. Well, I haven't been posting like I should so I promised to post some tonight and definitely Friday.
Well, today the Farmer went to the expo (Yes, I pouted since I had to work.) and I am just getting home from work. I love my house. With all my plants around it kind of reminds me of a cottage but with a contemporary flair. Bella is in my lap sitting here at my bistro table on the carport. I tried setting her next to me on the bench but she crawled up in my lap anyway. I love my sweet fur child. When I have kids we will refer to Bella as their big fur sister ;) Anyway, today it's not nearly as cold as yesterday. I wanted to stop by Elliano's but I decided it wasn't cold enough for coffee yet. Speaking of coffee..

The Great Pumpkin Contest

We all love a little competition right?
Well this October let's start a new tradition.
I rarely have time to spend just doing fun holiday stuff and lately I've been wanting to do something holiday-ish. Kind of like when I was little. I'm trying to make as many memories as I possibly can.
I am proposing a challenge, it's called 'The Great Pumpkin Contest'. Keep reading for the rules and guidelines, oh and the prizes!

Silence is Golden

I'm laying in bed and it's only 7:04. It's totally silent in my house except for the occasional sleepy sigh of Bella and the typing of my computer keys. I should be studying real estate but I have had such a long day. So here I am, in bed, being lazy for the first time this week.
Bella is trying to sniff the pumpkin spice candle on my nightstand. I pull her away and say, "No. It bites." I wish you could see her staring at the tiny flame. She seems to be concentrating so hard. I think she may just be tired.
Anyway, I have nothing much to talk about right now. Just about the silence and how nice it is at the moment. I can hear the sizzle of the candle wick it's so quiet. I love it! I just wish the farmer were here.

The dream house

In my drafting class about a year ago, my instructor sat me down and told me to design my dream home. I looked at him for a minute with a weird look on my face. "I don't know what I want my dream house to be like." He told me to look online for ideas and then create it. The first thing I did was go on Pinterest and I started going through the home section and pinning everything that caught my eye to a board I named, "Dream House". After about 2 hours I had developed a sense of my "style". I love country cottages that will make you dream about a vacation down South. This home (pictured) was the one house that I kept coming back to. It is called the Cloudland Cottage Plan. The Plan number is: Plan SL-1894 ad it's from Southern Living. I fell in love with the layout but there are a few things that I saw missing that I would absolutely need.

How to get grease stains out of clothes

I don't know if anyone else has this problem but when I go anywhere with The Farmer, especially on the peanut picker I get grease somewhere on my body. Last time, I didn't even touch but probably two things and my hands, shirt and face were covered in grease. It was so icky and gooey. and messy, oh my goodness, it was a mess! Anyway, my shirt and his pants were covered in it. So, I had to find a way to get the grease out. Well, i found an inexpensive way to get grease out of our clothes. How?

Bella & the pumpkin's photo shoot

Today I took a trip to the Dollar General Market. When I go there, I come back with quite a bit of stuff. I can't control myself. Today, I bought a few Fall decorations. A dish towel and rags, a pumpkin latte candle and my favorite, a small pumpkin. My pumpkin latte candle is burning as I type. Bella, my maltipoo, is trying to get to my pumpkin and I'm still trying to decide whether I should put my dish towel and rags in my hope chest or display them now. Gosh, this is so exciting! When I got to the house I had Bella's favorite dog food and my pumpkin on the island. I took her dog food and placed it in her dish and then I stood there looking at my pumpkin, thinking about where I could place it around the house. Then I heard a small whine from beside me, Bella wanted the pumpkin. Now that I think about it, I don't think she's ever seen a pumpkin. Last Fall was so busy that I didn't have time to go buy one. So, we had a short photo shoot with my Bella and the pumpkin. Here's a few of the photos, enjoy!

God is good all the time

"God is good all the time and all the time God is good." I heard this from a lady in class awhile back, I sat there trying to sort out my own problems. "Girl, are you listening to me? I said God is good all the time, even when you going through problems." I had just ranted for an hour about how I had recently over the weekend been treated pretty unfairly and her only words were, "God is good all the time and all the time God is good." Well these past few weeks I have remembered those words many times. I have almost meditated on the thought that God would pull me through. Then it all turned out like I wanted. So, where to start...
