A duck named "Faith"

I stood staring at one of my new ducks, she was crippled, couldn't walk at all, and was dragging herself around the pen, she was eating good, drinking good, and acting normal but it was just how she was getting around that was really worrying me. I turned to the Farmer and said, "This ones name is Faith." He nodded, "Why is that?" I picked her up and held her, lightly stroking her little back, "Because it's going to take a lot of Faith in God to get her better again."

Around the Farm Photo Collection

The rooster crowed as I woke up. My eyes were heavy as I sat in my car waiting on the Farmer to get home from getting his truck fixed. I looked out over the fields at the fog beginning to lift. I had been here since about 8:30 but it had seemed like hours. I rubbed my eyes and pulled my feet up in my seat. I heard a loud bang come from my door. I looked over the side of the door and who do I see? My good friend, the rooster.
There are high levels of sarcasm as I type that.

A Letter to the Farm Girlfriend

Dear Farm Girlfriend;

Let me just start by saying, if mud makes you cringe, cow patties make you nauseous and stinky boots make you want to throw them out then you, my darling, are in the wrong situation.

You probably stumbled onto this post by searching for ways to be a better "farm girlfriend", or maybe you went on Pinterest and typed in "Farmer's Girl", who knows, maybe you even went onto Google and said, "How do I be a good farm girl when I'm from the city?" Am I right? Well, if you did, then welcome to my world. I was there once. I was trying to figure out how in the world was I supposed to be a good farm wife. How was I supposed to go out with a man who is practically gone 95% of the Summer? How will we spend quality time together? What if we get married? Will I have to be a single mama during the Planting and Harvesting seasons? There were a million questions running through my head and very few answers.

So I did the thing most girls would do and I turned to Google, Pinterest, Facebook and my own blog...

My Trip to the Mountains

As promised, here is my post about my trip. Our first day up there it rained awhile. The fog was so thick that we could only see a few feet in front of us. When we finally made it to the house this was our view.
